The Effects of Flouride in Our Water

This video is one every BODY who drinks tap water should watch. It’s based on evidence from Sydney, but it’s not hard to apply it to any Australian city. Even though Melbourne could boast about having the best tap water in the world, when I drink tap water, it leaves a funny taste in my mouth. It turns out this taste isn’t funny at all, it’s poisonous. Drinking tap water for many months, I noticed very tiny white patches on my teeth and after seeing this video, I know it happened because of the fluoride in the water. Fluoride is a killer and it’s up there with lead, mercury and arsenic. It deteriorates the health of teeth, bones, immunity, thyroid and kidney function to name a few. Consider this- when fluoride is transported, it’s done so in rubber lined tankers otherwise it destroys the steel… You may think twice about drinking tap water.

Adora Svitak: What adults can learn from kids

Whether you’re a parent or a child watching this presentation, it’s likely to make you REALLY WANT to achieve more in life and feel that it’s actually possible. I thought if a 12 yo can do it, I can. If you’re a parent watching this, you might look forward to what your child could be when they grow up (or not grown up, in Adora’s case), how brilliant they may be if you had time to encourage them and listen to them more. If you’re a child, no matter what your age, you may feel inspired to make your parents proud of what you could become. Adora opens your eyes to the wisdom children can offer, not just how noisy they can be in the background. She reminds us how mentally free children are and how tremendously healing this mindset would be if adopted by any adult. This TED video will be eight fabulous minutes of your life.

Stroke of insight: Jill Bolte Taylor (On TED.com)

An amazing female scientist who studied her own stroke. A fascinating account of how the brain works. The right hemisphere of the brain can be in the here and now, sees the world as whole, beautiful, complete and expansive and the part of ourselves that can experience peace. The left hemisphere, however, analyses things to death and drains our energy through our constant thinking and mental chatter and the part of ourselves that panics and worries. Jill reminded me that I want to and can live in the freedom and expansion and intuition that my right brain is capable of at any moment.

Gary Vaynerchuk: Do what you love (no excuses!)

Gary’s a very successful wine guy and talks about how it’s so important to ask yourself what you want to do with your time and your life and doing what you believe in- cause if you don’t do what you believe in, it ain’t gonna work. This guy was way over the top in his presentation but it worked! He talks like he’s throwing bright colored lollies out of his mouth, he really wakes you up with his message about doing what you love and working hard and not wasting your time.

Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address

I’m not really into technology and computers but this brief life history of Steve Jobs who developed Microsoft, was quite inspirational. Steve presents as an ordinary guy. He developed Pixar productions as a result of getting fired from his own company, during which he was so sick he almost died. The messages I got from this video were to keep the faith despite life falling apart around you; that you can make it big too and great things can come from seeming disasters.
