Future Self Consulting Room
I began reading an article called “The seven weird habits that will change your life” and I didn’t expect to find something that would actually grab me, but this part of the article did: ‘regularly engage in time travel’.
The author, Jonathan Mead, talks about a great method to solve problems is by having a conversation with your future self.
He posed a visualization exercise where you consult your inner guidance (without calling it that in his article). You sit in your favorite chair, close your eyes and imagine walking into a bare room with a card table and two fold out chairs- facing each other. Mead says to sit in the chair closest to you and then see your future self walk into the room… She or he is ten years ahead of you and they explain that they are there to problem solve with you and answer whatever questions you have about the problems you’re facing. Mead says not to hold back and ask anything and everything you like from your future self- this more experienced version of you.
I did this exercise and a feeling of assuredness came over me as I was looking at the bigger picture. I noticed how patient my future self was and how it came up with perspectives and solutions I hadn’t thought of before.
Give it a go.
I would suggest you do this exercise when you won’t be interrupted for at least ten minutes, even if it doesn’t take that long and holding a crystal while you do the exercise helps too.
A known crystal for this exercise can be clear quartz: which can help you tune into a clear channel for higher knowledge; a lesser know crystal for this exercise is cerussite: which assists in you remembering other worlds and other times.
