Drinking water is a natural way to lose weight. It may sound so simple but it’s so effective. Drinking water is an integral part of weight loss because it increases our metabolism. When our metabolism is higher, the rate at which we burn up the food we consume is higher which can help lead to weigh loss.
Below I will talk about how much water to drink, how to drink it, when to drink it and briefly discuss how other drinks cannot be substitutes for water. Let’s look into these things a little further.
How
much water should I drink every day?
Because our body is mostly made up of water, we need to drink sufficient
amounts so that everything inside us can flow and keep functioning properly.
Just like a car when it is well oiled- our body is like this with its need for water.
Drinking water has great effects for your wellbeing in terms of it’s positive psychological effects because you tend to feel healthy just drinking it which lends a positive attitude about your body and general weight losing efforts.
Melbourne’s tap water is arguably the best tap water in the world. Even so, there are impurities in the water, so use a water filter- or better yet, collect your water from a spring.
Another reason to drink as pure water as possible, is because you want to maximize the hydration of your cells. Impurities make it more difficult for your cells to be hydrated, which can mean that you can drink a lot of water but still feel thirsty. This in turn means that your efforts to increase your metabolism by drinking water is somewhat ineffective.
Some people say that drinking -just water- is boring. This is –just- an attitude. Your pallet may have become used to flavors and textures so water by itself is probably less interesting. But the more water you drink, the more you get used to drinking it.
In conclusion, when you want to lose weight, you want to increase your
metabolism and drinking water benefits this process. Aim to drink water
often, at least 8 cups a day. Drinking pure water is best which means
your cells can be hydrated to the maximum, therefore helping your metabolism
increase. Always have water near you, sip it regularly and try to drink
before you notice you’re dehydrated
