Coping with anxiety can be a horrible thing. Anxiety may be something that you feel all the time that affects most situations or it may come up in particular circumstances. There are many reasons why anxiety can come about. Some reasons can include a lack of confidence, lack of adequate support or a traumatic experience. Whatever your situation, there is hope and natural cures for anxiety are available.
The effectiveness of a natural approach like anxiety relaxation techniques,
can be underestimated. Kinesiology is an incredibly effective natural
therapy where the therapist can communicate with the clients innate body
intelligence, find unbalanced energy which can be experienced as anxiety
and act to remove it. A seeming magical Kinesiology exercise you can do
at home, that acts as a natural treatment for anxiety is achieved by holding
two places on your forehead. Doing this exercise regularly will decrease
the intensity of anxiety by bringing you into the present, settle your
over active brain and help you feel still within yourself.
Head 11 Holding Points: The Magic Exercise
What are holding points?
Holding points are very small spaces or locations on your body that you
hold with finger tips.
“Head 11” holding points?
In Kinesiology, there are locations on your body and also on your head
and they’re identified using numbers. The proper name for what I’ll call
head 11 holding points are “neurovascular 11”. They are also called Emotional
Stress Release or ESR points. I’ll just refer to them as head 11 points.
Where are these points?
Head 11 holding points are on your forehead, half way between your hairline
and your eyebrows. They are in line with your eyes.
The way these points act as a natural remedy for anxiety is by stimulating activity in the frontal lobes of the brain causing you to become creative, aware of choice and new perspectives. Just holding these points allows anxiety from deep within your being, to float to the surface for removal, just like fat in a soup floats to the surface.
Head 11 points are used widely in Kinesiology for a variety of conditions and is fantastic as a natural treatment for anxiety.
This exercise will benefit you by lessening the intensity of your anxiety and if done several times a day, will help you live life without anxiety being a part of it. You will start to notice being more relaxed around people, small problems stay small and you’re ability to be in the present rather than living in the future, will increase.
How to prepare yourself for this exercise
Set up a safe and quiet place where you won’t be interrupted. Put aside about 5 minutes three times a day. The more often you may experience anxiety attacks, the more often you can do this exercise as a natural treatment for anxiety. You can choose the last 5 minutes of every hour if you like, set the alarm for it. .
If you can get your partner or your friend to hold these points for you then you can enjoy the effects without having to concentrate on the process as well. Doing it on yourself will work fine anyway.
Have your pointing finger and your middle finger held together and place
them on one of these head points, with your thumb of the same hand on
the other head point. See above.
Rest your other hand, palm flat on your tummy (holding your tummy helps bring about grounding and comfort).
Close your eyes.
While you’re holding these points with one hand and holding your tummy with the other, breathe deeply and slowly for a minute or so.
Bring your anxiety ‘on line’. Where do you feel anxiety in your body? Some people have sweaty palms, some people get stomach aches. Does your heart beat faster when you’re anxious? Do you breathe properly when you’re anxious? Think about how anxiety physically affects you and hold these examples in your mind.
Consider the people or circumstances that make you the most anxious… Hold these examples in your mind… breathe deeply and slowly.
Take your time. Let yourself feel you have all the time in the world. Continue to breathe easily and slowly. Keep holding these points. Swap hands during this exercise.
It’s important you hold examples of anxiety in your mind because you’re effectively trying to get it to float to the surface for easy removal. This can only be done by continuing to think how and what makes you anxious.
At some point, it will feel harder to think about examples of anxiety. This is good. This is the next stage where you may notice your mind slowing down, a calm feeling starting to take over and possibly feeling less bothered by stuff.
Enjoy this feeling. Stay here. Take your time opening your eyes. End
this exercise slowly. Notice your environment and gently make your way
back to your day.
(End of method)
Employ this powerful technique that acts as a natural remedy for anxiety. The head 11 points will calm you down, help you feel ordered within yourself and things will feel more within your control. Include it as part of your day and over a week or two, you will notice its settling effects in ways you wouldn’t have previously thought possible. Continue with this exercise several times a day every day and I can guarantee it will become increasingly difficult to get into those anxious states.
