There are thousands of thoughts that unconsciously wash through your mind every moment of the day. Most of them are repeated and many of them are negative. You’re mind is like a monkey and does it’s own thing unless trained and brought into line.
Usually, your mind tricks you into thinking things that cause negative emotions and results in a drain of your energy.
Strong thoughts, ones you believe or think often, have greater energy than ones you think less often. Thought energy is very real and they form units that join with other units. To get scientific for a moment, these units join together and form ‘ganglia’. The thoughts you think often have larger ganglia than the ones you don’t think very often.
Ultimately, you want to develop larger ganglia for positive thoughts and smaller ganglia for negative thoughts. By using affirmations, you build ganglia for the thoughts you want to control your life.
Affirmations are statements to say to your self that tell your mind HOW to think. Affirmations train or discipline your mind to think thoughts that are healthy for you, those that promote self-love and a positive self-image. They ‘call you’ when you’re going off track with negative thoughts which gives you an opportunity to correct them.
Use these affirmations to help you, but I also encourage you to write
you own.
Write your own affirmations by considering how to change the negative
thoughts you’re used to thinking into positive ones.
For example:
Negative thought: I always seem to miss the train.
Positive thought: I arrive at the train station in time
for my train.
This one above is just a simple one, but you can formulate other affirmations to alter your behavior for the better.
For example:
Negative behavior: You notice that you blurt out the
first thing that comes to your head without considering how it may cause
an argument.
Positive affirmation: I pause before I respond and consider
the effects of what I may say and I choose to say things that are more
likely to have a positive result.
As you become more and more aware of yourself and the behaviors you want to change …you can make a list of your negative thoughts and behaviors and make a counter list of positive affirmations.
How to say affirmations:
Thinking affirmations is good, saying them aloud is better and more powerful
and saying them in front of the mirror is extra powerful. Say them daily,
it works best. I noticed great results from the affirmations I use, which
is why I keep saying them regularly. It’s a great habit to get into!
Positive Affirmations
I am responsible for my life, for my feelings and for every result
I get.
-Bob Proctor.
I am aware that worry never solves, prevents or heals anything- it ONLY makes things worse.
Even though I feel scared sometimes, I take a risk for something I want to do and on a regular basis.
I make the commitment to maintain inner peace.
I make the time to reflect on my day, to tell myself I did a good job and to consider how I can make the next day better.
When something or somebody upsets me, I keep my mouth shut, breathe and talk when I can say something in a matter of fact way, like I would when talking about the weather.
I now choose to look for the good in others.
I am safe. I am protected. I am divinely guided.
Every day in every way, I am getting better and better.
My health is improving on a daily basis.
Abundance and prosperity from the north, south, east and west comes to me now.
I am at one with the universe.
I have vision, purpose and clarity in my life.
My guides and angels are with me now and always.
I am loved. I am loved. I am loved.
I deeply appreciate myself for existing.
I give myself permission to be still and at peace.
Every cell in my body emanates vibrant energy and health.
I attract only healthy relationships.
I make choices that support my highest good.
I open my heart and allow wonderful things to flow into my life.
